Panelists
Sameep Mehta is Distinguished Engineer at IBM Research AI. His research interests are broadly in the area of AI, Trusted AI, Data Quality, Data Preparation, Meta Data Management and Data Modernization. He is responsible for setting and executing Data strategy at IBM Research and works closely with products, services and customers.
Gopalan Opiliappan is a leader with an experience of around 20 years in IT Industry. He has worked for various global firms like Procter & Gamble, Philips Medical Systems, Netherlands, Fuji Photo Films, and Netherlands as a ERP consultant. He is one of the leaders in the Supply Chain & Advanced Analytics competency in Intel Corporation. Currently he leads the Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence in Intel India.
Nitendra Rajput works as the Vice President and Head of AI Garage in Mastercard. He has over 20 years of experience in the area of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Mobile Interactions. He has authored over 100 publications at top international ACM and IEEE venues, owing to which he has been recognized as an ACM Distinguished Scientist and a senior IEEE Member. Before joining Mastercard, he spent 18 years at IBM Research, working on different aspects of machine learning, HCI, software engineering and mobile sensing. With over 50 granted patents to his name, Nitendra was an IBM Master Inventor and was also an IBM Academy of Technology member.
Mithun Kumar S R is currently an engineering manager with Uber R&D India. He and his team are involved in solving basic and applied data science problems in natural language processing around large scale transcription, machine translation and question answering. He is also a guest faculty at his alma mater BITS Pilani for AI, ML and NLP courses. His doctoral research is on deep learning with sparsely labelled data. He previously worked with companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Disney, Siemens, etc, on building solutions around recommendation engines, image processing and dialogue systems.
Hari Charan Rao is the Senior Vice President for Data Platform Department at Rakuten India. He is a visionary leader who strongly believes in a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Currently, he heads the Data Platform Department at Rakuten, India. He leads the Catalog platform and Data platform efforts. His department’s portfolio spans across Product, Engineering, Data Sciences and Operation functions. Hari has 7 patents to his credit. He also featured in Forbes India, May 2019 edition as one of the ‘Top 100 Great People Managers in India’. He is highly skilled at developing Enterprise Software, Cloud computing, Catalog and Data platforms.
